“Doxofylline has demonstrated comparable efficacy to theophylline as a medication used to treat asthma, but with noticeably less adverse effects in investigations on both animals and people. Doxofylline does not appreciably bind to adenosine alpha-1 or alpha-2 receptors and has no stimulating effects, in contrast to other xanthine derivatives.”
